Welcome to HeartSeed Wisdom Practices
Our mission at HeartSeed Wisdom Practices is to nurture the whole child by tending to the seeds of wisdom and compassion innate to their very being.
Our offerings support academic, social-emotional, and mind-body development that foster a child’s inner wisdom and deep knowing of themselves and the world around them. We draw from pedagogy and practices that value the natural world, beginner’s mind, play, curiosity, and wonder as ingredients that guide the way and encourage meaningful learning and discovery.
OFFERINGS
“Michelle listened to our needs and desires and helped us develop a homeschool model that brought ease and intention to a routine that has allowed my boys to flourish. I was interested in math instruction, philosophy, and meditation practices for my boys. Working with my boys twice a week, Michelle teaches these topics in an engaging, motivating way and sets a tone and foundation for our week that keeps us on track. Both my boys and I love working and collaborating with Michelle each week.
- Parent of a 2nd and 4th grader
“Yoga makes me feel like all my problems go away and all that is left is the pose I am doing.”
– Student, age 10
About HeartSeed’s Founder
I am Michelle Bissanti, an elementary educator and yoga and meditation teacher.
I hold a Masters in Elementary Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In addition to my work as an elementary educator in public and independent schools for over 20 years, I developed and implemented a Yoga and Meditation program for children ages 4 - 12 in various educational settings. I have a deep understanding of child development, curriculum, and a love for teaching. I look forward to helping you navigate the education of your children and supporting your children to thrive.
Publications
Michelle Bissanti’s book entitled The Elephant Path: Attention Development and Training in Children and Adolescents co-authored with Daniel P. Brown, Ph.D. and Jae Pasari, Ph.D., published December 2019 is available on Amazon.
The book explains how ancient Indo Tibetan Buddhist practices can be adapted for children and adolescents in an educational setting. As our children negotiate a busy and demanding world that challenges their internal rhythm, this book introduces practices that foster the development of attention, concentration, metacognition, social-emotional skills, and compassion.
